Social Media Specialist
Scellus is a technology agency based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. We focus on solving problems to produce intelligent designs, deliver engaging experiences and build meaningful connections.
We are looking for an experienced and creative Social Media Specialist to join our team. As a Social Media Specialist, you will be responsible for developing and implementing our Social Media strategy in order to increase our online presence and improve our marketing and sales efforts. You will be working closely with the Marketing and Sales departments.
Who you are.
- You’re comfortable using social media for brand awareness and impressions
- You have excellent knowledge of Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Pinterest, Instagram, Google+ and other social media best practices
- You understand SEO and web traffic metrics
- You’re experienced with doing audience and buyer persona research
- You have good understanding of social media KPIs
- You’re familiar with web design and publishing
Requirements.
- Passionate about social media
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- General understanding of various social media platforms
- Strong work-ethic
- Ability to brainstorm and strategize social media initiatives based on client goals
- Ability to analyze data/metrics and create reports
- A proactive, self-motivated team player who is committed to helping the company continue to grow and evolve.
Education.
- A minimum of a college education is required. An Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree with an emphasis on marketing is preferred.
Experience.
- No experience is required. 1-2 years of using Facebook, Instagram and blogs for business is preferred.
Work Hours, Environment and Compensation.
- This is a full-time position (40 hours) mixed with work from home and office hours.
- Regular work hours are 9:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m., with additional hours as required to complete assignments and occasional weekend work

- Graphic design abilities
- Knowledge of social media tools & applications
- Facebook advertising experience
Whether working on site or remotely, your communication skills will be as important as your technical ones. Collaborating across time zones requires constant, clear communication and coordination, via Slack, GitHub comments, documents, and frequent video conferences. Scellus is headquartered in Kuala Lumpur, but half of our team works remotely. We know how to keep everyone on the same page, and so should you.
